Choose Reliance Mechanical for all your Commercial and Residential Service Needs

When it comes to choosing a heating and air conditioning expert to work on your systems, it pays to choose someone who has a wide range of experience and is dedicated to customer service.  For commercial and residential clients seeking reliable heating and air conditioning services, Reliance Mechanical, led by owner Dave Buchdahl, stands out for its expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction.

With a focus on commercial projects, Buchdahl brings extensive experience to every job, from repairing Zambonis at a Glen Ellyn ice rink when he was a teenager to maintaining a 450-ton chiller for a current commercial customer.

“We take pride in our meticulous approach, whether it involves changing filters, cleaning condensers, emergency repairs or system replacements. Our dedication to providing the highest standard of service ensures that every customer receives the exceptional care they deserve,” Buchdahl said.

About the Owner

Dave Buchdahl has been in the heating and cooling business since 2007 when he began his apprenticeship as a union HVAC professional, but his practical experience began a few years before that when he was age 15 working for an ice rink in Glen Ellyn.  He started out cleaning and maintaining the rink and with in a couple years was doing maintenance engineering, working on the rink’s cooling equipment, and fixing the Zambonis.

His employers at the rink saw his potential and sent him to College of DuPage to pursue refrigeration classes, but it was a family member who encouraged him to join the union and he was accepted into the 5-year apprenticeship program which he completed in 2013.

Buchdahl and his wife Maggie, and their children, have resided in the Burlington, IL area since 2017.

Primary Focus

Reliance Mechanical has put their primary focus on delivering outstanding preventive maintenance services designed to enhance the longevity of their customer’s systems.

At Reliance Mechanical, they focus on maintaining equipment for both commercial and residential customers.  Buchdahl recommends cleaning the condensers twice a year, replacing filters and maintaining the system on a regular schedule to maintain optimal efficiency and good repair.

“We focus on doing the work that protects the equipment,” he said.

Most of Reliance Mechanical’s clients are commercial businesses including strip malls and shopping centers.  Buchdahl said he specializes in working on rooftop equipment.

Relationships with Customers

Buchdahl emphasizes reliability of service and building connections with his customers. His hands-on approach fosters strong client relationships, setting Reliance apart from larger firms.

“My customers are not just another number.  I want their system to run.  I try to put myself in the customer’s shoes. I want their system to be as reliable as it can be,” he said.

Having worked for larger companies, Buchdahl said he knows the frustration customers feel when they get a different technician every time they call for service.  Having worked for a large company in the past, Dave said customers would ask for him by name, asking the office not to send somebody else, “I want Dave to fix it,” he recalled.

As an independent owner, “I now have personal relationship with customers.  They know they can call me and I will get back to them personally, versus just calling an office. I want to take care of my customers,” he said.

Buchdahl’s philosophy is simple: “Customers are paying good money to have their equipment fixed. I want to offer that same amount in reliability and return on their investment.”

For both commercial and residential clients, Reliance Mechanical delivers service that prioritizes quality, reliability, and trust.
